Severn Trent are looking to find suppliers which have the technical capabilities which can answer our problem statement below. To gather data on the level and/or flow of water, in our sewers to enable us to proactively react to potential failures before they cause a consequence for our customers or the environment, such as flooding or pollution. We are seeking a device that is capable of being rolled out at scale across our network to enable us to better understand the operational condition of our assets and enable us to take necessary action proactive intervention and maintenance. We are looking into the market to understand what the various stages of development are for a product which can be used to detect rising fluid levels in remote locations and communicate back alarm data. We're keen to open up to many industries with similar technology requirements (sensing level and of flow) that can be further developed to fit a business use case for monitoring sewer levels within chambers no deeper than 2 meters in depth. If the response from the market is positive, we would like the possibility of meeting to talk through Severn Trent's requirements further and find out how adaptable any current technology is and the likelihood of running a proof of concept (PoC) trial with any products which are at the point in development where this is possible. Once the PIN closes we shall look to run a formal call for competition (subject to our findings) of which the approach for will be defined from the insights of this PIN.
