Tender description

The University wishes to appoint a contractor or contractors to supply a selective laser sintering (SLS) system for automated manufacturing of medical devices using a wide range of polymeric biomaterials, particularly low melting temperature thermoplastics. The equipment will be located at the Henry Royce Institute (HRI), The University of Manchester. A ‘Selective Laser Sintering (SLS)’ system which will provide the institute with a field-leading capability in terms of design and manufacturing of advanced medical devices for personalized medicine using low melting temperature biopolymers. This equipment will provide a key technology platform that will underpin a core range of research programs across the University, as well as current research funded projects, and will provide an important part to the research focus of the HRI on Biomaterials.
