Provision of services which involves the taking of water samples by boat and from the shore

Clare County Council invites tenders for the provision of services which involves the taking of water samples by boat and from the shore (specified for each lake) and the taking and recording of field measurements at 41 lake sites across 19 lakes in Co. Clare, including Lough Derg (Co.Clare/Co.Tipperary) in accordance with a scheduled sampling programme, as specified by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the timely delivery of these samples to specified EPA Laboratories in Ireland based in Co.Mayo, Dublin and Kilkenny. This sampling is to enable Clare County Council to fulfil statutory obligations under the Water Framework Directive Lake Monitoring Programme in accordance with the current River Basin Management Plan. The tenderer is required to have all the equipment and field instruments required for this work. The contract is for a duration of 12 months starting in January 2020 with the possibility of extending the contract for a further 12 months and up to a maximum of 24 months. The contract also requires good liasing and co-operation skills with the EPA in co-ordinating the timetable for the sampling programme and delivery of samples.
