Tender description

The works comprise the design and build of a new leisure and community centre at Morpeth. The facility incorporates sports, leisure, library and customer services facilities as well as a Northumberland County Council adult learning skills service. The development includes a 6 lane pool, learner pool, spectator gallery, spa facilities, a 4-court sports hall, a gym/fitness suite and studio spaces, a café area, soft play as well as key public services including a library, customer services and adult learning and skills service. The procurement is being undertaken following the restricted tender process under the Public Contract Regulations 2015. The new facility will consist of the following: — 25 m; 6 Lane Main Pool, — 13 x 7 Learner Pool with Moveable Floor, — 4 Court Sports Hall plus storage, — Café/Reception Space including Soft Play Area, — Spa with Sauna, Steam room and Bubble Pool, — wet changing village, — dry changing facilities, — 100 station fitness suite, — 2 No fitness studios and 1 No spinning studios, — adult learning zone, — library, — staff areas, — ancillary spaces such as storage and plant spaces, — external works including library garden and art garden, — customer services facilities.
