Bexley and Greenwich Clinical Commissioning Groups (BG CCGs) have stated their intention to commission a model of urgent treatment service for Bexley and Greenwich residents. There are currently 3 Urgent Care Centres (UCC) across the 2 boroughs One co-located at Queen Elizabeth Hospital One standalone unit in North Bexley at Erith Hospital One standalone unit at Queen Mary’s Hospital Sidcup By October 2020 all UCC’s will be expected to have become Urgent Treatment Centres (UTC). Within Bexley and Greenwich the vision is to create an urgent and emergency care system (one system multiple facilities) that is capable of delivering equitable access to the right care first time for the majority of patients through a networked model with services provided along robust pathways 24/7. This is an opportunity for a genuine integrated Urgent and Emergency (UEC) Care services, aligning NHS 111, London Ambulance Service (LAS), the intermediate care services, GP out-of- hours, GP extended hours hubs and Hospital Emergency Centres. The new urgent treatment centre service will be delivered from the existing 3 Urgent Care Centres (UCC) sites across the 2 boroughs, one co-located at Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) Woolwich, one standalone unit in North Bexley at Erith Hospital and one standalone unit at Queen Mary’s Hospital Sidcup. The Greenwich UTC based at the QEH will be open 24 hours a day/7 days a week. The expectation of the 2 standalone UTC’s in Bexley is that one will be open 24hrs a day/7 days a week (Queen Mary’s Hospital) and the other will be open 13 hrs a day/7 days a week (Erith Hospital). The UTC will include open access patients and may include scheduled or appointed patients (e.g. via NHS 111) with urgent need. It is expected that the urgent treatment centre model will be fully implemented at all 3 sites by October 2020. The CCGs are continuing to develop and test its draft model of care requirements, the CCGs wishes to invite potentially interested providers of urgent care services to help test aspects of the new service requirements and potential commercial options. The CCGs intend to hold an early market engagement between 10.30-15.00, 6.12.2019. The event will be held at the Boat House, Danson Road Bexleyheath Kent DA6 8HL. Registration, with tea/coffee available, starts from 10.30 for a prompt 11.00 start. Below is a brief summary of the event: Session 1 – the urgent treatment centre service specification The purpose of this session is to give potential providers an overview of the aims that the CCGs has for its new UTC service specification and share proposed model options, and allow potential providers the opportunity questions about the specification. The current draft CCGs UTC service specification has been published with this advert. Session 2 – the proposed models workshop The purpose of this session is to gain feedback from potential providers on specific aspects of the proposed service.
