Tender description
From the 2020/21 academic year, North of Tyne Combined Authority (NTCA) will take responsibility for the region's Adult education budget (AEB) and how it is delivered. This procurement will enable NTCA to focus on the specific skills requirements of NTCA residents and businesses to deliver the step change needed to deliver economic growth. Procured activity has been split into 3 lots: Lot 1: for the unemployed; Lot 2: for the employed; Lot 3: innovation. Lot 1: for the unemployed. The provision should be accessible to key target groups e.g. 19-24 NEETs, over 50 years old, the long-term unemployed and the economically inactive with significant barriers to work, such as physical or mental health conditions. This delivery should add value to, rather than duplicate other services targeting these cohorts. Indicative lot value: 2 000 000 GBP per year. Contract values: minimum 50 000 GBP to maximum 500 000 GBP. Lot 2: for the employed. NTCA wants to see more of its employed residents (of all ages) progressing in employment. NTCA would like to see organisations focus on a curriculum which delivers a programme based on the progression needs of individual residents, clearly linked to the employment opportunities available in the area, including the NTCA growth sectors. Indicative lot value: 4 000 000 GBP per year. Contract values: minimum 100 000 GBP to maximum 1 000 000 GBP. Lot 3: Innovation. NTCA support the use of innovation and this lot will enable organisations to deliver highly responsive provision that is targeted and specific to a range of residents’ needs which require more flexibility and intensity than which is currently available through the core AEB provision. Indicative lot value: 600 000 GBP per year. Contract values: minimum 25 000 GBP to maximum 150 000 GBP.
