Summary of the work Ofgem require an accessibility audit to be carried out on web content in line with WCAG 2.1 level AA, to check compliance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018. The content will comprise a sample of web pages, documents, infographics, charts and video. No contract length is specified. The work would be carried out for a fixed price in line with an accessibility audit brief. 4. How do you want the results of the audit presented? Results should be presented in a report which details the issues for each page or document audited, along with the steps necessary to resolve the problem. The report should conclude with an overview of the audit and some recommendations for achieving WCAG 2.1 level AA compliance across the website. 5. What would be expected in the presentation at the further evaluation? This should include details of previous clients, methodology and approach, testimonials, the experience of staff undertaking the work and any recommendations based on the audit brief. 6. What budget do you have for this work? Our budget is £3,000 7. Please can you confirm the positions of the individuals evaluating the responses? Evaluation will be done by the Digital Channels Content Manager, Digital Channels Performance Manager and the Head of Channels, Content and Design. 8. Can we do this work from offshore and deliver more value within budget? The audit relates to a public website, so the location of the people carrying out the work is not important as long as it is done to a high standard and in line with the brief provided. 9. Can you please advise the estimated scope for the website(s) to be audited based on the £3,000 budget? E.g. number of websites, number of pages identified to be audited, number of documents to test and number of user journey/tasks to be tested? A sample of 35 pages from ofgem.gov.uk is to be audited along with 254 documents. We're also looking to test a range of assistive technologies (JAWS, VoiceOver, NVDA, Zoomtext, Dragon Naturallyspeaking, Read and Write) and browsers (Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer 11, Edge, Firefox, Samsung Internet) along with the following devices: Apple iPhone, Apple iPad, Samsung SM-G950F Galaxy S8, Microsoft Windows RT Tablet. 10. Please can you confirm the total number of sample web pages, documents, infographics, charts and videos to be tested? And please can you confirm the format of the documents, infographics, charts and videos? Total number of web pages is 35, and there are 254 documents (PDF and Word). Infographics are created using Piktochart, charts are custom built. The video player is JW Player. 11. Can we do the accessibility using Open Source tool? As long as the audit is carried out to a high standard and confirms compliance with WCAG 2.1 level AA the type of tool is not important. Testing will also need to be done manually. 12. Are there any plans to make changes following the audit? Will there be any need for further rounds of accessibility testing? This initial round of testing is to establish the current level of compliance. Further rounds of testing may be necessary, however this is not in scope at present. 13. Are there any personas that need to be tested? Testing using personas is not currently in scope.
