Tender description
Solihull MBC successfully developed and implemented the delivery of a twin stream (glass is collected separately in a 55 litre box) kerbside recycling service in October 2014. There are approximately 92 000 properties which will have a minimum of 240 l wheelie bin, with 3 500 properties being services with a clear plastic sack (28 micron) which will need to be incorporated into the material stream. Solihull MBC is seeking proposals which will cover the following collection options: — fully comingled collections, — twin stream collections — glass collected separately from other dry mixed recycling, — all material direct delivered to the processing facility, — all material bulked and transferred to the processing facility, — proportion direct delivered and proportion bulked and transferred. Solihull MBC through this process will be selecting a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) provider including transportation for a contract term of 1,5 years, with extension options for a further 4 years.
