At this time, the University is exploring the potential to replace its current in-house HR and Payroll system with a highly effective and efficient solution that will meet or exceed all of its Human Resources Management, Payroll and Pensions requirements, in a highly-secure, highly-dependable and fully-compliant way. We are exploring third-party offerings that are capable of providing exemplary self-service functionality for staff and managers, whilst delivering core processes robustly and reliably. In support of a growing population of 4000+ employees plus a large number of hourly-paid staff working across four faculties and our Professional Services directorates, we need a system to deliver a range of tangible and quantifiable benefits, including rich, real-time management information and improved business process efficiencies. We are also seeking substantial, proven system integrity. Approximately forty ‘always-on’ University systems rely on interactions with our current HR/ Payroll system (many on a real-time basis) so uninterrupted service availability will be key. And all of this sits within the context of the demands and complexities of the Higher Education Sector, including considerations such as individuals with multiple appointments, the need to support multiple pension schemes, delivery of incremental progression and back-dated pay awards, amongst others.
