Tender description

The objective and scope of the contract: The purpose is to acquire a high capacity electromechanical universal testing machine that will be used for teaching, research and development. The machine will mainly be used to test bending, tension, compression and shear properties of timber, wooden products and wooden construction elements. Testing of in-plane shear and out-of-plane bending of CLT elements are 2 examples of use. It may also be used for testing other materials than wood. At the same time MIINA [Faculty of Environmental Sciences and Natural Resource Management] wants to modernize an Instron 1185 electromechanical 100 kN universal testing machine. The modernisation is to be regarded as an option from the buyer and it depends on the total costs being lower than the budget.
