Tender description
This Hot Isostatic Press (HIP) unit will allow for sintering and densification studies of materials relevant to nuclear fuel materials (oxides, carbides, nitrides), refractory ceramics for accident tolerant fuels (e.g. carbide/nitrides) and ceramic composites such as fuel dispersion blocks, as well as other materials relevant to the nuclear fuel cycle (e.g. zirconolite phases). As such the instrument will require nuclearizing for the processing of alpha radioactive materials as well as non-active materials.
