Tender description

The purpose of this prior information notice (PIN) is to invite providers who may be interested in a potential procurement process to a market engagement event to be held on 25.11.2019 in Leeds. This market exercise relates to the provision of fertility and other gynaecology services in Leeds and the wider area. The purpose of this prior information notice (PIN) is to invite providers who may be interested in a potential procurement process to a market engagement event to be held on 25.11.2019 in Leeds. This market exercise relates to the provision of fertility and other gynecology services in Leeds and the wider area. Relevant NHS services are currently delivered by Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (the ‘Trust’) and non-NHS fertility services are provided in collaboration with a partner, Genesis Healthcare LLP, collaboratively operating as Leeds Fertility. Through market engagement, the Trust wishes to explore opportunities in relation to selected aspects of reproductive care for patients who both meet the NHS eligibility criteria for funding and for those who need to self-fund. The Trust and its partner see around 2200 new referrals annually in secondary and tertiary care, resulting in 5 230 outpatient episodes in 2018/19. It performs approximately 1300 IVF/ICSI cycles per annum of which 60 % are NHS and 40 % are privately funded, and an additional 600 frozen embryo transfer cycles. Further information detailing the potential scope of the services being procured will be provided at the market engagement event. Leeds Fertility is a top-performing IVF centre, providing the most comprehensive reproductive medicine service in the UK, and aims to maintain its position as a national leader in this field. Potential providers are encouraged to attend the market engagement event to hear more information about the current services and aspirations of the Trust. Potential providers will be invited to provide feedback following the event which the Trust may use to inform the strategy of any future procurement process. All interested parties must notify Rebecca Winn on rebecca.winn@nhs.net by [18 November] that they wish to attend the market engagement event. Any future procurement activity arising out of the above event will be the subject of a separate contract notice. The Trust is not committed to running a future procurement process as a result of this market engagement event and/or PIN. The Trust is not liable for any costs incurred by those expressing an interest in or attending this event or by those tendering for any future contract opportunity. Deadline for receipt of questions: noon 9.12.2019 Deadline for issue of Trust response to questions: 16.12.2019 Supplier response: 23.12.2019 Responses provided to the Trust will be kept confidential but may be used to shape any future procurement undertaken by the Trust.
