Tender description
Hydrometric cableway is any bank supported aerial conveying system suspended above a waterway for the purpose of making hydrological measurements. Such systems consist of a winch, pulley and cable system that is supported across a river by 2 metal towers or stanchions; they allow flow gauging equipment to be traversed across a river to that measurements of water depth and velocity can be taken; such measurements are then used to calculate the flow or discharge of the river.
