Tender description

The scope of the contract is to design, manufacture, deliver, install and commission one 500 MHz solid state RF amplifier subject to the performance specification detailed in this document. The amplifier shall be capable of delivering any value of power up to 120 kW in continuous wave operation for extended periods and also of pulsed operation from 0 to maximum power at arbitrary duty cycle. The amplifier shall be rated at 120 kW CW subject to the specification and design. It shall primarily consist of the following components: (a) AC to DC power converters; (b) multiple independent RF amplifier modules; (c) multiple independent RF drive amplifier modules; (d) RF combiners; (e) wiring of all modules and components; (f) internal water cooling system; (g) plant control system including PLC controller and signal monitoring; (h) source code and associated configuration tools and software; (i) supervisory control system including local PC and supervisory software; (j) interface to the DLS control system, as described in Section 6; (k) all cabling and connections to DLS services as defined in this document; (l) installation and commissioning of the system at DLS, as specified in Section 9; (m) sufficient spare parts with long delivery times to guarantee operation of the system with minimum down-time for a period of at least 2 years from the date of final acceptance.
