Tender description

The authority intends to launch a tender which seeks to appoint multiple contractors to supply TB testing services from April 2021 in England and Wales. TB testing is a critical part of Defra's TB eradication strategy, it plays a crucial role in identifying infected herds and individual cattle, and thus helping to reduce further spread of the disease. The appointed contractors will be required to administer and provide testing (including via subcontractors) on behalf of the Defra Organisation and Welsh Government and will include: — Service A: TB testing in England and Wales for bovine and non-bovine species, — Service B: Other Official Veterinarian (OV) services, — Service C: the provision of OV services in an animal disease outbreak, — Service D: vaccination delivery services. A follow up supplier day will be held on 28.11.2019 from 10.00 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. (doors open at 9.30 a.m.) at the Owsley Room, Bournbrook Pavillion, University of Birmingham. The purpose of the Supplier Day is to provide a forum for potential suppliers of the service to gain a broad understanding of future requirements. It will also provide an opportunity to share and gain feedback which may be used to shape the proposition before any formal procurement commences. Please note that in order to manage numbers, only two persons from any one organisation may attend the Supplier Day. All those organisations wishing to attend the Supplier Day should register on Bravo and respond to the questions provided in the dummy pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ) under project 24989 on or before Wednesday 3rd July. Slides and Q&A from the engagement will be published on Bravo after the event. Further supplier engagement is anticipated in the winter of 2019 to further refine the requirement before the ITT publication in early 2020.
