Tender description
TfL wish to conduct early market engagement with prospective suppliers in order to understand market appetite and ability for this requirement, detailed further below ‘II.2.4) Description of Procurement’. To express interest in this requirement, register to TfL's eProcurement System, ProContract, on https://procontract.due-north.com/ searching for 'ISA' or '001987'. This advertisement is issued solely for the purposes of the market engagement. Any possible future procurement of any services, supplies or works by TfL would be carried out strictly in accordance with any relevant obligations under the Utilities Contract Regulations 2016. TfL requires an Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA) product for retrofit to a portion of the London bus fleet from 2019 — onwards. The ISA product must: — be able to provide mandatory intervening ISA which limits the speed through restriction of the acceleration of the bus, it must not allow any deactivation by the driver, — be able to limit speeds from 5 mph, — provide an indication of whether the product is working or not to the driver, — be able to use the London Digital Speed Limit Map as the basis for reading the speed limit (GPS enabled), — be able to be updated via wifi at the bus garage or a direct software update which can be uploaded by bus operators. The ISA product should be production ready and viable for immediate retrofit on a variety of different bus models and engine types found in London (including ADL, Wright Bus, Volvo, Optare and Mercedes). TfL will also consider the viability of ‘in development’ products that are in near production stage in line with TfL’s retrofit program timelines. TfL prefer no ongoing subscription fees to be required. This advertisement is issued solely for the purposes of the market engagement. Any possible future procurement of any services, supplies or works by TfL would be carried out strictly in accordance with any relevant obligations under the Utilities Contract Regulations 2016.
