Janeiro Digital is currently at the forefront of decentralized web technology in healthcare based on their thought leadership and technological guidance within the open source solid community, HL7 FHIR interoperability standard, and the semantic web ecosystem. We are working with them to establish suitability for broader adoption of their internal platform through a pilot implementation in Greater Manchester. The solid ecosystem provides a platform for citizen-controlled data repositories (PODS) that are decoupled from applications that contribute/utilise this data. The open source solid technology solutions that are currently available are quite immature and would not be suitable for deployment within an enterprise environment. Janeiro Digital has partnered with Inrupt, an organization that provides an enterprise solid server. The enterprise server interfaces with key Janeiro Digital proprietary technologies to provide the only POD based solution that is specifically designed for health care systems. We are looking to procure these technologies from this sole provider internationally and implement a minimal viable product pilot with < 5 000 PODS to test the concept within the Greater Manchester LHCRE programme. It will cover: — ability to consume FHIR health data and store within a patient POD, — ability for a patient to enter/update care plan data within a POD, — ability for our platform to be notified and consume patient data entered within a POD.
