Tender description

NPL is seeking to establish a multi-provider framework agreement for the supply and installation of active hydrogen masers and ancillary services. The requirement is for active hydrogen masers that have good stability and high reliability for time scale generation, but do not require exceptionally low phase noise. Purpose of the procurement is to establish a multi-provider framework for 3 years with a possibility of a 1 year extension. The requirement is for active hydrogen masers that have very good stability and high reliability for time scale generation, combined with exceptionally low phase noise to meet the requirements of caesium fountains, optical clocks and other research systems at NPL. Purpose of the procurement is to establish a multi-provider framework for 3 years with a possibility of a 1 year extension. NPL will where possible provide each active hydrogen maser (as per Lot 1 and Lot 2) with a temperature-controlled chamber to ensure optimal performance and provide some resilience against failure of laboratory temperature control systems.
