Tender description

Cheshire East Council wishes to commission infection control related services to manage risk of spread of communicable disease. The commission will be split into 2 lots. The first involves delivery of a core infection prevention control service incorporating surveillance, prevention and outbreak response. The second lot involves delivery of specialist TB Nursing Services to the community including outreach, case management and new entrant screening. Both require work with key local stakeholders in order to deliver services successfully. The contract(s) will be for an initial 3 years from 1.4.2020 with options to extend for 2 further periods of 12 months at the sole discretion of the Council. The requirements of this lot, known as the core IPC service are defined within the service specification, there are 3 main areas of requirement broken down as follows: (a) preventative support; (b) outbreak response; and (c) delivery of a public health surveillance system. The annual contract value is anticipated to be up to 106 000 GBP bidders should note that TUPE will apply. The requirements of this lot, known as the Tuberculosis Nursing element is defined within the service specification for Lot 2. The aims of the service are primarily to reduce the burden of TB within the population of Cheshire East through a range of actions focused on prevention. The secondary aim is to support stakeholders within the community to respond promptly to outbreaks of TB, thereby reducing the impact they have on individuals within that setting and the wider community. This includes supporting the activities of the PHE Health Protection services. The annual contract value is anticipated to be up to 50 000 GBP bidders should note that TUPE will apply.
