Tender description

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust requires the provider to offer a UTC service at both hospital sites that delivers a robust service model for patients presenting at the accident and emergency departments with minor illness/injury that, for a period of 3 years with a 2-year extension option. This contract provision must be mobilised by 1.4.2020. The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust requires the provider to offer a service that delivers a robust service model for patients presenting at the accident and emergency departments with minor illness/injury that: — is in place for 12 hours per day 7 days per week 365 days per year, — offers walk in and booked appointment slots for patients, — will see, treat and discharge patients within 4 hours of presentation to the departments, — to see and treat the majority of patients within a single visit within the agreed timeframe and to avoid re-presentation by patients for unplanned care to this service or ED, — work in collaboration with SaTH and other local health care providers and CCGs to ensure appropriate signposting is undertaken and seamless care is provided for patients, — provide an integrated and whole system approach to relieve pressures within both primary care and secondary care services.
