Tender description

The British Council is the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities. We employ about 12 000 staff in over 100 countries in all regions of the world — about 1 250 in 5 locations in the UK and 10 750 outside the UK. Most of our staff are nationals of the country they work in. The most common languages spoken apart from English are Arabic, Spanish, Hindi, Mandarin, French and Cantonese. This invitation to tender consists of 2 lots: Lot 1: Occupational Health Services; and Lot 2: Employee Assistance Programme Services. Suppliers are invited to bid for either Lot 1 or Lot 2, or both lots. Some services under Lot 1 apply to UK offices only and some to all our offices worldwide, as noted below. All services under Lot 2 apply to all our offices worldwide. A prior information notice (2019/S 142-349599) was issued on the In-tend portal on 25.7.2019 and closed on 29.8.2019. The primary focus for OH services will be staff in our UK offices but ideally some services will be available worldwide. Services will include pre-employment health checks (UK only), a ‘Day one’ absence management system (UK only), management referrals, including advice on return to work and reasonable adjustments, health promotion and education activities. We will require extensive support with communications and promotion at launch and throughout the contract, and a variety of reports and analysis. Our EAP service will be available to all staff and their immediate families 24/7 in all the countries in which we operate, wherever possible in the local language and with an understanding of cultural norms. The service will offer advice and support on a wide range of subjects, including family issues, relationships, healthy lifestyles, common physical and mental health conditions, work-related issues and work-life balance. In addition we wish to offer staff and their immediate families access to a limited number of free counselling sessions where considered appropriate. We will require extensive support with communications and promotion at launch and throughout the contract, and quarterly usage reports by region and globally.
