The provision of training courses in graveyard surveying and oral history video recording in the Ballyhoura Development area.

Tender description

Ballyhoura Development CLG is seeking to enter into a contract with a competent experienced person(s) or body(ies) to animate and deliver on a graveyard surveying and oral history recording training course (accredited or unaccredited) for 6 communities in the Ballyhoura Development area of County Cork (across a total of 17 identified graveyards of various size), and 10 communities in the Ballyhoura Development area of County Limerick (across a total of 21 graveyards of various size). Due to the varied sizes of the identified graveyards, some of the community training projects may just take place at one large graveyard, while others may survey up to three smaller graveyards that are all within <10km of each other. Each community training course will be delivered to a group of 8-10 individuals over a minimum of 5 hours. This training course is envisaged in the context of the approaching 200th anniversary of a British colonial resettlement programme that saw over 2000 individuals and family members emigrate from North Cork and East Limerick to Canada in 1823 and 1825 under the direction of Peter Robinson, a colonial administrator.
