Targeted substance misuse service for children and young people

Tender description

This is a Prior Information Notice (PIN) to inform the market that the Council will be commissioning a Targeted Service for Children and Young People Under the Light Touch Regime. To screen higher risk populations in order to identify young people using drugs or alcohol and other psychoactive substances, delivering interventions aimed at reducing harm and refer to the specialist service where more intensive support is required. THIS IS NOT A CALL FOR COMPETITION. The service focus is on at risk populations, which will include: • Looked after children • Care leavers • Young offenders • Children and young people with poor mental or emotional health • Children of substance misusing parents • Children excluded from school • Young people not in education, employment or training • Children and young people living in areas of deprivation • LGBTQ young people The service will be available to children and young people who are: • Under the age of 18 years (or under 19 years if already engaged); • Resident or attending an educational establishment within the Derbyshire County Local Authority area; (Excluding Derby City) • At risk of health or social harms resulting from their own substance use.
