Various environmental services covering a range of specialisms including: — lead EIA (scoping/environmental impact assessment) involving the production and submission of screening request/scoping reports and associated figures as required, to define project issues for consideration and establish opinions and issue to relevant bodies, — LVIA (Landscape and visual impact assessment) contributing to, advise on and review the screening request/scoping report, associated figures/wirelines/photomontages and specialist printing etc. where applicable, — hydrology and hydrogeology, — ornithology, — transport, — geology, — noise, — aviation and airspace, — archaeology and cultural heritage, — ecology, — socio-economics and tourism, — unexploded ordnance, — shadow flicker, — planning (policy and statements). More detailed scope will be provided with tender documents Lead EIA: The consultant is responsible for the management and co-ordination of the EIA project team throughout production of the screening request, scoping report, environmental impact assessment report (EIAR) and environmental impact assessment. MORE DETAILED SCOPE WILL BE PROVIDED WITH TENDER DOCUMENTS LVIA: The Consultant will be responsible for writing the Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment chapter, including assessment of potential construction, operational, decommissioning and cumulative impacts / proposed mitigation measures for inclusion within the EIAR along with accompanying Appendices, Wireframes, Photomontages and Figures (including specialist printing), in accordance with relevant guidance and legislation. MORE DETAILED SCOPE WILL BE PROVIDED WITH TENDER DOCUMENTS Hydrology / Hydrogeology: Services are required to inform the layout design and subsequent assessments under current best practice guidelines are required to comply with the EIA submission. Therefore, for Hydrology and Hydrogeology the scope of works is in 3 stages: Stage 1 - Desk Review, Site Reconnaissance; Stage 2 – Refined Site Surveys,; Stage 3 – EIA Technical Reports; and EIA Soil and Water Chapter preparation and review. MORE DETAILED SCOPE WILL BE PROVIDED WITH TENDER DOCUMENTS Transport: The Consultant shall prepare a Transport Impact Assessment and Traffic Management Plan in accordance with statutory guidelines and best practice. This shall take into account all aspects of wind farm construction, from turbines through to delivery of raw materials. Desk-based and site surveys shall be required including technical drawing and swept path-analysis. MORE DETAILED SCOPE WILL BE PROVIDED WITH TENDER DOCUMENTS Geology: Services are required to inform the layout design and subsequent assessments under current best practice guidelines are required to comply with the EIA submission. Therefore, for Geology, the scope of works is in 3 stages: Stage 1 - Desk Review, Site Reconnaissance; Stage 2 – Refined Site Surveys, Engineering Geological Assessment Report; Stage 3 – EIA Technical Reports; and EIA Soil and Water Chapter preparation and review. MORE DETAILED SCOPE WILL BE PROVIDED WITH TENDER DOCUMENTS Aviation: To undertake an assessment which considers (but not limited to) current and future airspace usage, any proposed redesigns of instrument flight procedures and airspace classification/structure, line of sight radar1 interference and lighting requirements of the proposed development during the construction, operational and decommissioning phases in line with the requirements of the EIA Regulations. MORE DETAILED SCOPE WILL BE PROVIDED WITH TENDER DOCUMENTS Archaeology & Cultural Heritage: The Consultant shall write the Cultural Heritage chapter, including assessment of potential construction, operational, decommissioning and cumulative impacts / proposed mitigation measures for inclusion within the EIAR, along with accompanying Appendices and Figures, in accordance with relevant guidance and legislation. Preliminary desk study and walkover surveys. MORE DETAILED SCOPE WILL BE PROVIDED WITH TENDER DOCUMENTS Ornithology The Consultant shall provide a full ornithological assessment write-up including summary reports at the end of breeding and winter survey seasons and associated flight lines in GIS format (ESRI shape files / feature class). Collision risk modelling, PAT and GET modelling and the Ornithology chapter and associated appendices, figures etc. MORE DETAILED SCOPE WILL BE PROVIDED WITH TENDER DOCUMENTS Ecology: The Consultant shall carry out baseline habitat, vegetation and protected species surveys, to scope, extent and methodology as agreed with relevant consultees, including extended Phase 1 Habitat survey, targeted NVC survey, and appropriate protected species surveys (as agreed with the Employer). The Ecology chapter and associated appendices, figures etc. MORE DETAILED SCOPE WILL BE PROVIDED WITH TENDER DOCUMENTS Noise: Services are required to inform the layout design and subsequent assessments under current best practice guidelines are required to comply with the EIA submission. Therefore, for Noise, the scope of works is in 3 stages: Stage 1 – Preliminary studies and desktop assessment, Stage 2 – Background noise assessment, Stage 3 – Site specific noise modelling. MORE DETAILED SCOPE WILL BE PROVIDED WITH TENDER DOCUMENTS Socio-Economics The Consultant shall write the relevant sections of the Land Use, Socio Economic and Recreation chapter, including assessment of potential construction, operational, decommissioning and cumulative impacts / proposed mitigation measures for inclusion within the EIAR. Preliminary desk study and Field surveys. MORE DETAILED SCOPE WILL BE PROVIDED WITH TENDER DOCUMENTS Unexploded Ordnance The Consultant shall assess the UXO risk level on site and assess the potential construction, operational, decommissioning and cumulative impacts / proposed mitigation measures for inclusion within the EIAR The Consultant is required to carry out an explosive ordnance desktop threat assessment, to assess the risk of encountering UXO on-site and for mitigating that risk if significant. MORE DETAILED SCOPE WILL BE PROVIDED WITH TENDER DOCUMENTS Unexploded Ordnance The Consultant shall assess the UXO risk level on site and assess the potential construction, operational, decommissioning and cumulative impacts / proposed mitigation measures for inclusion within the EIAR The Consultant is required to carry out an explosive ordnance desktop threat assessment, to assess the risk of encountering UXO on-site and for mitigating that risk if significant. MORE DETAILED SCOPE WILL BE PROVIDED WITH TENDER DOCUMENTS Shadow Flicker The Consultant shall carry out a desktop analysis to identify which residential properties may have occurrences of shadow flicker. The Consultant shall carry out a site-specific shadow flicker assessment. This shall include a site visit to confirm topographical features, obstacles, orientation of the receptor, positioning of windows etc in order to accurately predict real occurrences of shadow flicker at the receptor and confirmation of the type of receptor e.g. derelict or dwelling.
