Tender description

Translink are currently looking to purchase 2No. large, 8 tines 2 motor tamping heads and 6No. small, 4 tines 1 motor tamping heads to be used on the Northern Ireland Railway (NIR). The Tamping heads must be compatible with the existing plant which is Colmar T2400FS and Komatsu PW140-7 and suitable for Northern Ireland gauge (1 600 mm) track. Translink are seeking perspective suppliers to attend a Pre-Market event that will be held in November 2019 to assess the types of units available. This will provide interested suppliers with an opportunity to obtain further information relating to the Authority's requirements and will also provide the Authority with the opportunity to gain feedback from the market. Details of the engagement session will be issued following the responses received from the expression of interest. Before embarking on a tender process, Translink wishes to engage with the market place to Gather intelligence which will inform the sourcing strategy for this contract and thus, the procurement process. We are seeking to engage with experienced manufacturers and distributors of Tamping Heads, which are capable of fulfilling all the requirements as stated within Section II.1.4 of this notice.
