Swansea Council is commissioning independent professional advocacy services for adults (age 18+) for whom there is a statutory entitlement and a Paid Relevant Person’s Representative Service for people deprived of their liberty, subject to standard authorisations under the Mental Capacity Act 2005. Further information is contained within the tender documents. This Contract is split into 2 Lots. Swansea Council is commissioning a Paid Relevant Person’s Representative Service for people deprived of their liberty, subject to standard authorisations under the Mental Capacity Act 2005. The purpose is to provide a paid relevant person’s representative service for people deprived of their liberty subject to standard authorisations under the Mental Capacity Act 2005. The Service Provider (providing the paid representative service) will be available to provide paid representatives to all individuals who may be eligible. This includes people with learning disabilities, dementia, mental health needs and acquired brain injury. Advocacy supports people to have ‘voice and control’ and to ‘participate fully’ in matters that affect them.
