Tender description

The contracting authority (on behalf of itself and Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing ('KNH') wishes to setup a dynamic purchasing system (DPS) for the provision of learning (which includes but is not limited to classroom learning/e-learning) which falls under the remit of our internal training provision (the services). We anticipate 5 (five) categories to be run under this DPS: Category 1: management development; Category 2: personal skills; Category 3: coaching; Category 4: outplacement support; Category 5: ad-hoc training requirements. This is a further competition from Category 1 of this DPS. As we transform the authority we find more and more of our staff working within project environments and teams. Whether these are discrete one off projects or larger programmes, there is more of a requirement for our staff to work in an agile manner. In terms of project management this needs to be underpinned by understanding the basic fundamentals of project management. This course will be designed for staff either with little or no experience of project management and require guidance on the application of basic project management principles. By the end of the course it would be expected that trainees would: — have explored projects and project working, — understand goals, objectives and scope, — have learnt estimating and planning techniques, — feel in control of progress and changes, — understand the importance of project communication and meetings, — have a range of planning and organising tools, — know how to manage risk, — feel confident to motivate, — understand how to evaluate effectively.
