2545 Birthing & Delivery Suite

Tender description

The works comprise the upgrade to the ventilation systems within the Delivery Suite and Birthing Centre including various associated building works as described elsewhere in the tender documentation. The works will also involve the upgrade of the existing roof system immediately over the areas of the proposed works. The contractor is advised that the works within the units have to be undertaken in a series of phases. Drawing nr 2545/05 identifies the current perception of how the internal works will be undertaken. The same is subject to review and agreement between all parties including the contractor’s input on the duration of each phase relative to the Scope of Works within the phase. The contractor is advised that they will not be allowed to proceed to the subsequent phase until the preceding phase is completed, commissioned and handed back to the Trust to allow them to take possession and continue with their clinical service. The phases as shown attempt to give an indication of a possible acceptable solution both in terms of how the works can be safely undertaken and the timescales involved. A formal Contract will not be entered into until there is an agreed programme with the agreed sequencing/phasing of the works. The contractor is advised that each phase must be completed on a Friday to allow the Trust the weekend to decant the subsequent phase and take possession of the completed phase to then transfer patients across as necessary.
