The Council engages in a range of local authority activities including: — leisure services, — community services, — community planning, — parks and open spaces, — tourism, — cultural facilities, — refuse collection, — street cleansing, — off street parking, — environmental health, — burial grounds, — public conveniences, — administration, — employment, — finance, — economic development, — planning and building control amongst others. Other services will include but will not be limited to: EU Rural Development Programme; EU Peace IV (all services will be subject to the change arising from the United Kingdom decision to leave the European Union). The Council has identified that its legal requirements fall under six (6) main areas of expertise and wishes to appoint firms of solicitors in 6 lots to provide advice primarily in the following areas of law: 1) Planning; 2) Land and property; 3) Employment; 4) Enforcement; 5) Commercial (including procurement and construction); 6) Public law and local government administration.
