Tender description

EirGrid has a requirement for system services, with additional over frequency response provision, provided on a high availability basis. These services are important in the management of the system, and in particular the management of significant frequency events, as levels of non-synchronous renewable generation increase. Successful tenderers will be able to provide very fast reserves, sustained for at least 20 minutes, with high availability. The contracts awarded will provide payments for a fixed term, this being up to 8 years.
