Tender description

Gloucestershire County Council is seeking to set up a framework for the provision of social work apprenticeships for its children and families cluster and adult’s cluster. The social work integrated degree apprenticeship was signed off by the Institute for Apprenticeships (IfA) at the end of last year. This apprenticeship standard aligns to the requirements of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Standards of Proficiency for Social Workers in England (2017). The Council is offering the social work apprenticeship route as a means by which to grow and develop stabilized workforces within adults and children’s clusters by, in the first instance, offering existing staff the chance to achieve a social work qualification via this route. Ongoing and subject to continued internal interest, the opportunity will also be offered to suitable candidates from outside the Council. The Council also seeks to maximize its apprenticeship levy contributions and to fully embed apprenticeships in workforce planning and service transformation. The framework will be in place for 4 years, effective from January 2020. Call-off contracts will last up to 3 years.
