North Lanarkshire Council seeks to appoint a contractor to carry out effective Debt Recovery and Diligence measures in pursuit of Council Tax and Non Domestic Rates arrears. North Lanarkshire Council seeks to appoint a contractor to carry out effective Debt Recovery and Diligence measures in pursuit of Council Tax and Non Domestic Rates arrears. The successful contractor will be a firm of Messengers-at-Arms and Sheriff Officers who are commissioned to operate in the Sheriffdom of South Strathclyde, Dumfries and Galloway. The successful contractor will provide effective Diligence and Debt Recovery Action for Council Tax and Non-Domestic Rates arrears, including; — Enforcement of Summary Warrants, — Serving Charges for Payment, — Debtor Tracing – place of residence and place of employment, — Debtor Profiling to assist with the recovery process, — Offer a variety of payment methods; and, — Provide Debt Management and Advice throughout the recovery process. The successful contractor will be expected to: — Maximise the collection of sums due to the Council, — Facilitate a co-ordinated approach to those with multiple debts due to the Council, — Identify support and advice, where possible, throughout the recovery process, — Apply best practice in the operation of debt collection; and, — Ensure that their technical systems can fully integrate with the Civica – Open Revenues system used by the Council for Council Tax and Non-Domestic Rates.
