Network Rail is seeking to dispose of a number of Mobile Flash Butt Welding machines (MFBWs) as they are surplus to its operational requirements. Network Rail is seeking to dispose of a number of Mobile Flash Butt Welding machines (MFBWs) as they are surplus to its operational requirements. Description The MFBWs are converted Doosan DX170 excavators fitted with Holland welding heads and Deutz generators. They are designated Road Rail Vehicle Type 9A. Requirements: A list detailing the number and condition of each MFBW, and any associated equipment, will be circulated to all interested parties who respond to this Prior Information Notice within the given timescale. The process for the submission of formal offers and confirmation of the offer deadline will also be distributed. The MFBWs may be offered in more than one lot during 2019, and bids for one or more machines will be acceptable. The MFBWs will be sold as seen and where standing; all are located in the UK. Opportunities to view the machines and equipment will be offered as part of the bidding process. Interested parties are requested to respond to this notice stating their interest and providing details of their organisation, or the organisation they are representing. A brief summary of the intended future use of the machines is also required. Interested parties will be expected to have the capacity to arrange for the removal and transportation of the MFBWs within a reasonable timescale agreeable to both parties. The deadline for return of expressions of interest is 18.2.2019.
