Survey of a number of sites for proposed Overlay Roadworks 2019

Tender description

As the proposed works involve the design of a pavement overlay scheme, the topographical and digital level surveys are required to obtain appropriate data to enable the Design team to undertake a detailed road design, including pavement overlay/inlay design, drainage design and appropriate remedial measures to the verges, footpaths, existing services, entrances and side road junctions. The data will be used for the preparation of the design of cross sections and drawings together with the determination of quantities to be used in the contract documents for the scheme. The following information is required: 1. The establishment and survey of a control network so as carry out Detailed Ground Survey and preparation of detailed cartographic plans at 1:500 scale of the study area. 2. An accurate digital level survey shall be carried out of the road centre line and both road edges at 10metre intervals along the entire length of the scheme (< 5 mm accuracy over entire scheme). This requires: a. The setting out of a grid every 10 metres for the entire length of the scheme with points spray marked on the road centre line and both road edges. Survey nails shall also be installed in each point at 100 m intervals. b. An accurate digital level survey shall be carried out of each point along the entire grid, i.e. 3 points level surveyed every 10 metres (road centerline and both road edges). c. The production of a .txt file containing all level survey information in the exact format described in Section 8 of the specification, for the entire length of each scheme, at 10 m intervals.
