South Worcestershire Development Plan Review Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) Environs Landscape and Visual Sensitivity Study

Tender description

Malvern Hills District Council invited Tenders from Potential Consultants on behalf of the south Worcestershire Councils (SWC) (Malvern Hills District Council, Worcester City Council and Wychavon District Council) for the provision of a Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) Environs Landscape and Visual Sensitivity Study, to help to inform the South Worcestershire Development Plan Review (SWDPR). The SWDPR Malvern Hills AONB Environs Landscape and Visual Sensitivity Study is required to cover the Malvern Hills area, but does not include the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty itself, as considering landscape and scenic beauty in such designated areas has the highest status of protection in the National Planning Policy Framework. The Study was to enable the SWCs to determine which areas of land warrant further planning appraisals, e.g. transport etc, with a view to potentially allocating them for employment / housing or leisure / tourism / sports or recreational development.
