Medway Council is seeking to appoint a suitable, qualified consultant to prepare a markets review on the current market provision in Gillingham, Strood and Rochester, to provide recommendations and identify any future locations for markets in Medway. The invitation to quote sets out the background information, the requirements for the review, the terms of the appointment on which the selected consultant will be invited to submit proposals and the form of tendering. This is a significant study which will help shape the future of markets in Medway for a considerable period both in a strategic context and in respect of local initiatives .It will need to address developing and attracting potential themed markets with the relationship of different centres over time. The markets review is considered as being an integral to the Town Centre Strategy plan by providing an accurate calculation of the market need and provision and create sustainable future roles for the market as a sense of place within those Town Centres.
