The University has opted to extend its use of the online learning portal Lynda.com for a further period of 3 years. Sheffield Hallam University has been using Lynda.com software for the last 5 years and its content has been successfully embedded into delivery of many of our courses. The online learning platform provides access to thousands of learning courses delivered by industry experts. At present the University has more than 8000 active users;both students and staff. The students are using the software to support their studies but also to develop and improve their digital skills for the purpose of future employability prospects. The university staff use the e-platform to learn new skills and develop or improve the existing ones. There are no alternative services that are capable of offering the range, depth and quality of courses currently available through Lynda.com As such, we have decided to extend our use of the service for a further period of 3 years, until 2022. We have secured value for money by negotiating directly with the service provider to obtain the best renewal price.
