Tender description

Design, supply, associated civil works, installation and commissioning of a new 8MW, 6MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). SHEPD is seeking to tender for the design, supply, associated civil works, installation and commissioning of a new 8MW, 6MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The BESS will be used primarily as a UPS, responding to under-frequency events following a loss of generation. The BESS must be capable of operating islanded and performing a black start if required. Location: Lerwick Power Station, Gremista, Lerwick, Shetland, UK, ZE1 0PS BESS Design: Minimum BESS size shall be 8MW, 6MWh. Minimum warranty period shall be 10 years. Expected battery technology is Lithium Ion. Frequency responsive. Capable of Islanded operation. Capable of black start. Output Voltage is 11 000V. System Frequency is 50Hz.
