Provision of Microbiology Media for Public Health England (PHE)

Tender description

Public Health England (PHE) is an executive agency of the Department of Health and Social Care. PHE's National Infection Service laboratories carry out a wide range of investigations and research. These are done through its Clinical laboratories, Food, Water & Environmental laboratories, Reference Microbiology laboratories and Products and Services arm. Tests performed cover a vast area of Public Health Microbiology and PHE are national and international leaders in this field. This notification relates to a planned sourcing activity for microbiological growth media (powder, liquid, pre-poured slopes and plates) including chromogenic, Tuberculosis (TB) media and antibiotic sensitivity testing discs, which must be in compliance with laboratory standards/methods. PHE estimates the publication of the Opportunity and Contract Notices beginning of October 2019. The tender will include the following Lots: Lot 1 - General and Chromogenic Media Lot 2 - Antibiotic Sensitivity Testing Discs Lot 3 - TB Media, reagents and consumables.
