The anticipated value of the Service is 300 000.00 GBP per annum. A Tender advertisement may be issued in due course, should the Commissioner consider this the optimum route to commission the service. Please complete your response and return via our eTendering Portal, reference: Community Ophthalmology Services – NHS/SOEPS/19.511 RFI by 12:00 Midday on Wednesday 16.10.2019. Provision of Community Ophthalmology Services Aims and Objectives NHS Eastbourne Hailsham and Seaford (EHS) and NHS Hastings and Rother (HR) Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) are reviewing their commissioning models for existing Community Ophthalmology Services. Currently these services are delivered through Single Provider Contracts with Primary Eye Care Providers and through various Locally Commissioned Services. In addition the CCGs are working collaboratively with our local acute trust, East Sussex Healthcare Trust (ESHT) to develop additional Ophthalmology community pathways, to help release capacity in the already overwhelmed Hospital Eye care Services (HES) and to better utilise the existing workforce in the hospital and primary care setting. Having a number of varying arrangements with multiple providers may not be the most efficient delivery model for certain services, therefore we would be interested to discover the market options available to us, with the potential to successfully deliver these services and, to gather your views on the most effective structure to achieve optimum service delivery and value for money. The CCGs wish to invite feedback to this Request for Information to inform the service provision options accessible to the CCGs in East Sussex, for the provision of Community Optometry Services such as: 1. Cataract direct referral and cataract post-op* 2. Intra-Ocular Pressure refinement* 3. Minor Eye Conditions Services* 4. Child Vision Screening- in development 5. Stable AMD monitoring- in development * denotes services that are already in place ESHT clinicians and managers already work with some of the Community Optometrists in the HES and are keen to build on existing relationships by offering training and accreditation to support the provision of new services in the community. This would help develop a more integrated and sustainable working relationship with Community Optometrists to the benefit of our population. The aims of this Request for Information are to: — encourage communication with all parties for future development and effective delivery of community optometry services, — commission best value service provision for the taxpayer, — use the experience of the last 3 years to improve the service offer for patients, — gather information leading to a good experience of care for patients, — provide a cost effective service model which delivers value for money for both commissioners and providers. Thank you - we appreciate your time and effort in completing this RFI.
