Tender description

Nottinghamshire County Council is seeking tenders for the provision of a low level, short term, supported accommodation service in North Nottinghamshire (Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark and Sherwood and Bassetlaw areas). This contract replaces existing service contracts which are expiring. The tender is for the provision of a support only contract, but that support will be delivered to people living in specific, designated units of accommodation. The provider will support people aged 18 and over who have a learning disability, mental health condition, autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) or a physical disability, in a minimum of 62 units of accommodation. The service will support people in designated accommodation and work with them to achieve a more stable lifestyle and develop the necessary independent living skills and confidence to sustain independent accommodation on a long term basis. It is anticipated that people will remain in the service for not more than 6 months. A number of low level support services are currently being provided in designated buildings in Sutton-in- Ashfield, Mansfield Woodhouse, Mansfield and Newark and these buildings will continue to be available for the delivery of this contract for at least the initial 5 year term. The provider is also required to deliver the service in the Bassetlaw area and must identify a minimum of 7 units of suitable self-contained accommodation. The Council will not enter into a contractual relationship for the provision of the housing, will not pay any housing costs and there will be no nomination rights or void rental agreements. Where the provider does not own the building/s they intend to use, assurances will be sought regarding the use of the building/s for the life of the contract. The contract will be awarded for an initial period of 5 years with an option to extend in 2 increments, 1 of 36 months and the second of 24 months, up to a maximum of 10 years.
