This is a prior information notice (PIN) for information only. It is not a formal invitation to tender. You will need to respond to the contract notice in order to be considered for this contract. The purpose of this PIN is to maximise transparency and competition for the upcoming contract notice. All details in this PIN are subject to being updated or changed in the final contract notice. The 5 North Central London (NCL) boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, and Islington are together looking to implement a 2-year support-after-suicide service across NCL. The aim of the service is to help navigate and support those bereaved by suicide through the intense emotional turmoil and practical tasks in the period after a suicide. NCL is looking for one organisation (or a collaboration), which could be from the voluntary and community sector or NHS, to run the service. The successful organisation will be resourced to provide pro-active engagement with those bereaved by suicide, one-one emotional and practical support and advice, group-based and peer support, a telephone helpline and close partnership with other local services and agencies. As the proposed service is a pilot programme, it is expected that experience from service delivery and evaluation, including service user input, will enable the service to be developed and improved through an action learning-based approach. Islington Council, as the lead borough procuring on behalf of NCL, is hosting an open market event on Thursday 31 October, 2 p.m.-4 p.m. at Islington Town Hall, N1 2UD, so that interested organisations can find out more about the programme. This event will provide more information about the proposed Support-after-Suicide service and procurement process. Organisations will also have the opportunity to make suggestions to improve the Support-after-suicide proposals and ask any questions they have.
