The Institute of Health, Health Policy and Social Care Research at De Montfort University, Leicester generates high-impact research in physical and mental health, disability, health services and social care practice. Our research centres on people, and thus involves the use of face-to-face and telephone interviews, focus groups, workshops, and other speech-based data collection methods with a wide range of research participants, including practitioners, service users, and community members. Data collected via these methods includes both sensitive personal data as well as socially sensitive or stigmatised topics e.g. grief, domestic abuse, mental illness, homelessness. The Institute now requires ongoing specialist academic transcription of audio recordings of one-to-one and group research interviews for the Work.Live.Leicestershire programme evaluation.
