Refurbishment to the Existing Roof to the Library Building, Coleraine Campus

Tender description

The Contract is for executing repairs to the existing roof covering and integral rainwater disposal infrastructure over the Library accommodation, (Block H), within the Ulster University, Coleraine Campus, Cromore Road, Coleraine BT52 1SA. The roof comprises a contiguous series of low, (technically flat), mono pitched and dual pitched roofs which are supported upon a steel superstructure. Works will include: Preparation of the existing substrate and lining the flat valley gutters with a seamless liquid applied coating. Replacing the existing surface mounted downpipes that collect the rainwater from the North-light roof gutters. “Re-working” previous repairs to the ridge by stripping back the earlier repair materials and effecting a liquid waterproofing repair. Repairing defective sections of the perimeter parapet capping pieces. Returning all rainwater outlets to service. In conjunction with the application of the liquid water proofing membrane, altering and renewing the connections between the gutter outlets and the corresponding vertical pipework to ensure that an impervious bond is achieved between the gutter channel, gutter outlet and the uPVC downpipes. Providing additional brackets within the ceiling void to support the rainwater pipework infrastructure. Providing proprietary hatches within the suspended plasterboard ceilings to enable access to each rainwater outlet. Replacing areas of the ceilings that have been damaged by leaks.
