Tender description

The primary purpose of this research is to investigate other countries’ approaches to Japanese knotweed in the context of property sales. This is envisaged as a desk study. The research should develop a structured and systematic way of approaching the relevant bodies and organisations in other countries, both within and outside Europe, to investigate whether Japanese knotweed has to be declared as part of the property buying process. Building on this, the research should draw conclusions about whether the approach adopted in the UK is disproportionate and make recommendations for improving the approach in the four administrations of the UK.
