Tender description

The University currently has a number of endowment funds, which have been established by external donations to support specified departmental, college or student activities. These are invested in capital market investments in order to grow the capital and income in real terms into the longer term. The endowments funds are expected to continue into perpetuity. This tender is to appoint an investment management supplier who will be the principal source of expert investment advice to the University's Finance Committee, advising on matters such as risk profile, income and capital growth targets, asset allocation and the selection of suitable investment funds. This tender is to appoint an investment management supplier who will be the principal source of expert investment advice to the University's Finance Committee, advising on matters such as risk profile, income and capital growth targets, asset allocation and the selection of suitable investment funds. The supplier will be required to provide information and guidance on issues that impact on the University’s investment portfolio and draw to the committee’s attention relevant issues and identify developments and changes required to ensure that the committee are kept informed of best practice. The supplier would also, with appropriate delegation from the finance committee, action any changes in the investment portfolio. The core service requirements are: — provision of advice regarding a suitable investment strategy and asset allocation, — provision of advice on any amendments required to University investment policy to reflect the agreed investment strategy, — management of the implementation of changes to investment arrangements, — access to a monitoring portal which would allow the University to review the status of the investment portfolio(s) at any time, — regular monitoring and management of the investments, and preparation of a report to each finance committee as required, — provision of regular updates on the identification and development of strategic investment opportunities, — provision of training/coaching sessions as required, — attendance at finance committee meetings.
