Tender description

Kildare County Council, as the contracting authority proposes to establish and operate multi-party framework agreements for architect lead design team services in 2 lots to provide consultancy services in connection with a variety of projects throughout County Kildare. Applicants may apply for 1 or both lots. Kildare County Council, as the contracting authority proposes to establish and operate multi-party framework agreements for architect lead design team services in 2 lots to provide consultancy services in connection with a variety of projects throughout County Kildare. Applicants may apply for 1 or both lots. Kildare County Council as a local authority procures, operates and maintains a variety of building types. The purpose for establishing a framework agreement for architect lead design team services is to provide a single point of contact for the provision of construction related professional services to the Local Authority. It is proposed that the framework agreement will be established in 2 lots: Lot 1: The range of projects which will fall under the framework agreement for Lot 1 fall into but is not limited to the following 2 main categories: 1) The construction of or major alterations to library’s, art’s/heritage centres, fire stations, Council offices, community centres and other building in the control or ownership of Kildare County Council or entities established by Kildare County Council; 2) The construction of new or major refurbishment to existing multi-unit social housing and apartment schemes. This may also include the provision of consultancy services for rapid delivery, joint venture and other forms of non-traditional housing delivery. Typically the value of construction contracts in Lot 1 will exceed 2 000 000 EUR. It should be noted that, given the historic nature of some structures in the control or ownership of Kildare County Council it is a requirement that a Conservation Architect accredited at RIAI Grade 1 or equivalent is part of the design team for Lot 1. In order to be admitted to the framework agreement for Lot 1 the architectural practice identified as the design team lead does not need to be accredited at Grade 1 but will need to have the services of a Grade 1 accredited conservation architect available to them. Not all projects in Lot 1 will require the services of a Grade 1 conservation architect.
