Tender description

In this project, we will set up and validate an ex vivo model for pulmonary drug disposition studies based on porcine lung. In doing so, we will establish a unique, cutting-edge technique for inhalation drug delivery research, which fully complies with the 3R principles for more ethical use of animals in testing. Using the lungs of pigs from an abattoir, we will introduce a cost-efficient method for the pre-clinical testing of inhaled medicines, resulting in less risk in clinical trials and ultimately enable the development of safer drug products.
