ENWL are looking to identify suppliers of metal clad distribution sub stations/compact substations to be supplied and installed within the Northwest region of the UK. Potential bidders should be aware that the preferred route to market for Electricity North West Ltd is via Achilles https://www.achilles.com/ This PIN is published by ENWL requesting information of the number of suppliers who have the ability to supply the required goods and/or services as detailed within this notice. A compact/package substation is a pre-assembled and tested unit delivered to site as a complete package ready for installation. It shall be suitable for locking with an Electricity North West locking system. The substation shall comprise of, A 3 phase transformer with rating of 200 kVA up to a maximum of 500 kVA which has its tank extended to form a housing in which may be mounted a high voltage ring main unit or non-extensible circuit breaker and a low voltage fuse board. It shall be capable of being assembled in such a manner that the whole unit may be handled, transported and installed as a unit. The electrical equipment shall be of an Electricity North West Approved type and ENA Assessed. It shall comply with the relevant with Electricity North West Specifications ES322, ES314 and ES319 including ENA specifications; ENA TS 37-2 (LV), ENA TS 35-1 (Transformers) and ENA TS 41-36 (Switchgear) respectively. The housing shall allow for the full operation of the high voltage and low voltage switchgear via doors on the front. Note it shall be suitable and safe with an adequate internal arc, pressure relief and IP rating for siting on the side of a public highway without the need for a perimeter fence. The colour shall be either Green or Grey suitable for C5M coastal areas.
