Sign Language and Braille Translationa and Interpretation Services

Tender description

Cumbria County Council is committed to making sure that all members of the public can access our services. The beneficiaries of the service are d/Deaf Sign Language users who require an interpreter to be understood by the Council; and Braille users who require a translator to be able to access services and read documents produced by the Council. This could include members of the public (of all ages), employees or volunteers. The Translation and Interpretation Services complement existing Cumbria County Council statutory duties delivered under the Care Act 2014, the Children & Families Act 2014, and the Equality Act 2010 (Specific Duties and Public Authorities) Regulations 2017. The services will be demand led, and will consist of Council services contacting the Provider to request one or more of the services covered by the Service Specification, as follows: • British Sign Language Face to face interpretation; • British Sign Language Video interpretation; • Braille Translation.
